The Brockville General Hospital is currently developing a Hospitalist Medicine program and is seeking FULL TIME HOSPITALISTS – 2 Vacancies. The ideal candidate (s) will participate in program development and implementation. Previous hospitalist and program development experience is preferred.

 The Brockville General Hospital is a progressive, 124 bed community hospital with > 4,000 admissions annually, serving a regional catchment population of approximately 96,000.

Practice Profile
 MRP for unattached medical inpatients (orphans)
 Work collaboratively with local Family Physicians (Blended model for hospital based care)
 Supply medical care and support for surgical patients.
 Hospital based office and administrative support for scheduling and billing will be provided
 1 in 4 Call

Remuneration
 Fee for Service
 Income guarantee negotiable

Requirements
 College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
 CCFP
 ACLS

The Hospital
 Modern combined ICU/SDU (total 9 beds) Level III ICU designation.
 7 Telemetry Beds average 850 ICU admissions
 ED volumes 26,000 per year with a skilled mix of full and part time physicians.
 Excellent specialty support from Internal Medicine and Surgery.
 New CT (128 slice-April 2011)
 PACs – fully digital diagnostic imaging
 Advanced Electronic Health Records (EMR) with computerized physician order entry (CPOE)
 Bed-side ultrasound
 Linked to Tertiary Services in Kingston as part of the SE LHIN
 Good access to services in Ottawa with remote access agreements for patient care systems

Education / Academic
 Regular CME opportunities.
 Affiliated with Queen’s University with academic appointment and participation in post graduate education
