Hospitalist Opportunities - Calgary Zone
If you are a family physician, who loves to manage a variety of acute care medical patients, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and are interested in working as part of a dynamic team, we want to hear from you!
We are seeking qualified physicians to fill a number of positions in our well established and successful Hospitalist Program. The Calgary Hospitalist program is comprised of a high functioning group of family physicians with an interest in medical inpatient care. The Program provides high quality responsive and timely care for patients requiring admission to an acute care facility. As the Most Responsible Physician (MRP), team members play a valuable role in the delivery of family medicine level care to unattached medical patients requiring hospitalization. Core services include daily scheduled care, assessment of new patients for admission to the program and after hours support. Additional opportunities to work across the continuum in our rehabilitative and long term care programs are also available.
Alberta Health Services is the largest fully integrated, publicly funded, health care system in Canada. The Calgary Zone serves a population of approximately 1.3 million people living in an area of 40,000 sq kilometres. An additional 300,000 people in Southern Alberta, Southwestern Saskatchewan, and Southeastern British Columbia access health care.
Calgary is a vibrant city close to Banff and the Rocky Mountains. It is growing at a faster rate than any other city in Canada and a number of smaller, surrounding communities are growing even more quickly. To keep pace with the needs of the population, the AHS Calgary Zone has over $1 Billion invested in capital projects that are currently underway, including South Health Campus, the new acute care hospital/health campus in the southeast quadrant of the city.
