Fraser Health is seeking physicians to join our well established and very busy “Hospitalist” program.  Applicants should have a strong interest in developing a permanent acute care hospital practice.  Responsibilities include the admission and management of “unattached” patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) and supportive care for some surgical and specialist medical “unattached” patients.

Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) is a 507 acute care bed, University of British Columbia affiliated, regional referral and community teaching hospital.  SMH has the busiest emergency in BC, and offers medical, surgical, neonatal intensive care, tertiary, ambulatory, cardiology, rehab, as well as 24/7 emergency services with 94,500 visits annually. The new Critical Care Tower will increase Surrey to 650 beds by 2014, providing a dedicated perinatal centre, helipad, expanded ICU as well as a new emergency opening in October 2013.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be licensed or (eligible for licensure) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CSPBC). And have their CCFP (or equivalent) and their ACLS.  Hospitalist experience is an asset.

Compensation:

The current contract pays $132.69/hr.
