The Canadian Society of Hospital Medicine is active in organizing educational opportunities for Canadian Hospitalists. Each year the CSHM hosts the Canadian Hospitalist Conference. We plan to post the slide presentations from each of these events on this site. The viewer is currently under development.

Hospital Medicine is an exciting new site specific specialty that is growing by leaps and bounds in North America. While this field of medicine has been in existence for nearly a decade, very few training programs exist to teach the specific skills set required to be an exemplary Hospitalist.
The Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is proud to offer a one year fellowship in Hospital Medicine. This training opportunity is one of only a few in existence in North America and the first in Canada. Hospitalist fellows spend their time on an acute care medicine ward caring for patients with a variety of common and uncommon disorders. During their training, fellows also learn the art of medical consultation, how to facilitate patient transitions of care, and how to participate in hospital administration. Fellows who successfully complete the year are in a strategic position to become leaders in Hospital medicine in centers across Canada.
