Hospitalist - Norfolk General Hospital, Ontario
Norfolk General Hospital is currently developing a Hospitalist Medicine program and has opportunities for permanent full-time, part-time and locums. The ideal candidate (s) will participate in program development and implementation.
Norfolk General Hospital is a progressive 106 bed community hospital with more than 4,000 admissions annually. Norfolk General Hospital is located in Simcoe, ON, ten minutes from the beautiful lakeside community of Port Dover, one hour from Hamilton, Kitchener, London and only 90 minutes from Toronto. Simcoe has a population of 16,000 and serves a catchment population of approximately 69,000.
Practice Profile
- MRP for unattached medical inpatients
- Hospital based office and administrative support for scheduling and billing will be provided
- Work collaboratively with local Family Physicians (Blended model for hospital based care)
- Excellent specialty and allied health support
Remuneration
- Fee for service - approximate weekly average $10,000 – $12,000 plus daily on call rate of $471 per day
Qualifications:
- Current license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Hospital
- Current combined Intensive Care Unit/Surgical Daycare Unit (total 10 beds) Level II ICU designation
- ED volumes 28,000 per year with a skilled mix of full and part time physicians
- Excellent specialty support from Internal Medicine and Surgery
- Bed-side ultrasound
Education/Academic
- Regular CME (Continuing Medical Education) opportunities
- Affiliated with McMaster University with academic appointment and participation in post graduate education
Other hospital opportunities
- Opportunity exists for full or part time family practice in the community with an existing Family Health Organization or Family Health Group.
