International QI Resources

There are many international institutions that promote quality and patient safety in healthcare.

The Society of Hospital Medicine has a comprehensive QI section that provides detailed tools and resources on the QI methodology, as well as specific clinical topics relevent to hospitalists.

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is an independent not-for-profit organization helping to lead the improvement of health care throughout the world.  Founded in 1991 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, IHI works to accelerate improvement by building the will for change, cultivating promising concepts for improving patient care, and helping health care systems put those ideas into action. 

The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement supports the NHS to transform healthcare for patients and the public by rapidly developing and spreading new ways of working, new technology and world-class leadership. Their website is a rich resource for tools, case studies and great resources for QI and patient safety.
