 Here, you will find links to various Canadian websites and institutions that play an important role in quality and patient safety issues across the country.

Announced in December, 2003, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) has a national mandate to build and advance a safer health system for Canadians. It does this by fostering collaboration between governments and stakeholders, supporting the development of patient safety initiatives that will help the Canadian healthcare system become the safest and best in the wold.

The National Quality Institute is an independent, not-for-profit, organization that is committed to advancing organizational excellence across Canada.

The Change Foundation is a policy think tank that generates research, analysis and informed public discussion on key and emerging health system issues, starting with the integration of health-care services in communities across Ontario.

The Quality Healthcare Network (QHN) is a non-profit, member-based organization dedicated to fostering the development and adoption of best practices by its members through education and shared improvement projects in Ontario. It is the Ontario lead of Safer Healthcare Now!, and their website provides valuable educational resources that are of interest to hospitalists and anyone interested in quality and patient safety.

The Health Quality Council of Alberta is an independent organization that gathers and analyzes information and collaborates with various stakeholders such as Alberta Health Services, Alberta Health and Wellness and health professionals. Their website is a great place to look for various tools and resources. Check out their resources page for links to many provincial, national and international institutions.
