B.C. VTE Collaborative

The B.C. VTE Collaborative is one of the largest multicenter implementation projects of its' kind in North America.  It is designed to reduce the risk of DVT's and Pulmonary emboli in hospitalized medical patients.  Participation by Hospitalist programs in 13 different centers will bring together the joint experience of over 1000 Medical patients per day throughout B.C..  The end result will be a significant rise in the standard of care in B.C. hospitals through the reliable application of VTE prophylaxis.  This project will also develop a collaborative network and the infrastructure for future quality improvement initiatives in Hospital Medicine in Canada.
