Hospitalists - Edmonton

If you are a current family or internal medicine physician, who loves challenging and rewarding opportunities in providing medical inpatient care in a unique oncology setting, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and are interested in working as part of a dynamic team, we want to hear from you!

The Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) is a free-standing integrated cancer treatment and research facility that functions as the tertiary oncology referral centre for Northern Alberta. It has a strong record of basic and translational research as well as clinical trial activity in oncology.

We are seeking qualified physicians to fill a number of positions in our well established and successful Hospitalist Program. The CCI Hospitalist program is comprised of a high functioning group of family or internal medicine
physicians with an interest in medical inpatient care for oncology patients. The Program provides high quality responsive and timely care for patients going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments and in managing toxicities of treatment and complications of their cancer. Team members play a valuable role in the delivery of care to oncology patients requiring hospitalization. Core services include daily scheduled care, assessment of new patients for admission to the program, performing necessary procedures and after hours support.

Edmonton Cancer Care has also been part of $1.3 billion for new and announced projects in Edmonton and Calgary including CCI.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for licensure and in good standing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta
  • Opportunity to participate in program development and implementation
  • Previous medical inpatient care experience is an asset

Compensation:

  • Contractual with compensation in alignment with Provincial Base Payment Rates for General Practice
